How to Cook Perfect Eggs in an Air Fryer: Soft-Boiled and Hard-Boiled

Hello, everyone! We're back in the kitchen today with an exciting experiment: cooking eggs in an air fryer. We've been asked to try this for quite some time, and finally, we're doing it!

What We're Using

We'll be using the Cauri Jewel air fryer, which has two compartments. We're placing two eggs in each compartment—no water, just the eggs. We'll be testing two different cooking times to achieve both soft-boiled and hard-boiled eggs.

Cooking Process

  1. First Batch: Set the air fryer to 150°C (302°F) and cook for 8 minutes.
  2. Second Batch: Set the air fryer to 150°C (302°F) and cook for 10 minutes.

Instructions

  1. Place two eggs in one compartment and two in the other.
  2. Set the air fryer to 150°C (302°F).
  3. Cook the first batch for 8 minutes and the second for 10 minutes.
  4. Once done, immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process.

Results

8-Minute Eggs

  • Outcome: The eggs were soft-boiled, perfectly cooked with no snotty bits.
  • Internal Temperature: Approximately 55-56°C (131-133°F).

10-Minute Eggs

  • Outcome: The eggs were more firm, ideal for hard-boiled eggs with a little give in the center.
  • Peeling: Easier to peel, possibly due to the extra cooking time.

Final Thoughts

We were pleasantly surprised by the results. The 8-minute eggs were perfect for dipping in toast, and the 10-minute eggs were great for a firmer bite. Using the air fryer eliminates the need to boil water and monitor the cooking process, making it a convenient alternative.
