Quick and Easy Air Fryer Salmon with New Potatoes and Garden Peas
Welcome, lovelies! I'm Lind, and today we're making a quick and simple salmon dish using the air fryer. We'll pair it with baby new potatoes and garden peas for a wholesome meal.
Ingredients
- Salmon fillets (preferably with skin on, but skinless works too)
- Baby new potatoes
- Garden peas
- Olive oil (or any oil you have on hand)
- Butter
- Parsley
- Lemon juice
- Sweet chili sauce
- Aromat seasoning (optional)
- Microwavable container
- Aluminum foil
Instructions
Preparing the Peas and Potatoes
- Prepare the Potatoes: Cut baby new potatoes into small pieces. Place them in a microwave-safe container.
- Add the Peas: Add garden peas to the same container. Sprinkle Aromat seasoning over the top.
- Microwave Setup: Add enough water to the container to cover the peas and potatoes. Place a vented lid or cling film (with a small lifted edge) over the container.
- Microwave: Cook in the microwave for 10 minutes. My microwave is 700 watts; adjust the time if yours is different.
Preparing the Salmon
- Prep the Salmon: Lay the skin-off salmon fillets on a piece of aluminum foil. Spray a tiny bit of oil on the foil.
- Season the Salmon: Spread sweet chili sauce over the fillets. You can also add butter, parsley, and lemon juice if you prefer.
- Tent the Salmon: Create a tent with the foil by folding it over the salmon and scrunching the ends. This helps retain moisture.
- Air Fryer: Place the salmon tent in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 200°C (about 400°F) and cook for 10 minutes.
Final Steps
- Check the Potatoes and Peas: Once the microwave finishes, drain any excess water from the potatoes and peas. Add a bit of butter if desired and cover to keep warm.
- Check the Salmon: After 10 minutes in the air fryer, check the internal temperature of the salmon. It should be at least 63°C (145°F). If not, cook for a few more minutes.
- Crisping the Salmon: For a crispier texture, open the foil tent and air fry on the "Max Crisp" setting for an additional 2 minutes.
Serving
Serve the salmon fillets alongside the new potatoes and garden peas. Enjoy this quick, healthy, and delicious meal!
Tips
- Microwave Container: Any vented, microwave-safe container will work. If you don't have one, use cling film with a small lifted edge as a lid.
- Oil Options: Olive oil is preferred, but any cooking oil will do.
- Seasoning Variations: Feel free to experiment with your favorite seasonings and sauces.
